OK, seriously, how is it April Fool’s Day already?! It sure feels like a joke around here with this wintry mix of snow and rain (blargh) and I’m sure you also noticed we forgot to post the March Swap Sheet this year (oops).
It’s really no excuse, but it’s been tough to keep up this beloved blog as Amy and I have made the rounds by plane, train, and automobile, and all that swapping and traveling hasn’t left much time for scouring the interwebs to see what’s up with our favorite swap hosts. We missed you guys!
We’re SUPER psyched for the rest of our US swap tour heading into summer and fall (get ready Boston, New Orleans, Atlanta, Miami, San Francisco, Chicago, San Diego, NYC, Philly & DC!), but we’re also super psyched to help promote YOUR cool swap events going on wherever you may be. Because, if you’re truly addicted to swapping like we are, then you know that the first thing we all ask at the end of every swap is: “When’s the next one?!”
Every single day, we get dozens of emails, Facebook comments, and Tweets from swap organizers around the world looking for help reaching swappers in their area, and from swappers chomping at the bit to find a swap near them, and we launched this blog just over a year ago as a way to share all of our swap knowledge and expertise. These monthly Swap Sheets are our attempt at providing a home for information about all the best and most promising swaps we know about going on in the US, Ireland & the UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand (see this month’s Swap Sheet for April below) and to help connect swappers with experienced swap organizers like us, in all the places we can’t (even though we’d love to!) be. Swapping is all about community, and socializing, even more so than the loot, and we’ve grown quite attached to the community of super awesome swappers we’ve built here.
But, we know we can do better, and we’re SUPER psyched to announce that — coming soon! — we’ll be launching a swap events directory at Swap.com, where you’ll be able to list or find your next fabulous swap, among other cool things!
