Punky and I officially joined the Swap.com team this week, working out of their cool offices in SoWa (which many of you may recognize as the summer home of The Haberdash), and will be heading up all their events and fashion-related business from here on out. Since 2004, Swap.com (formerly SwapTree.com) has been *the* place to swap books, CDs, DVDs, and video games online. We’re super stoked to help them expand past those current categories into additional types of swapping, and to help push the “collaborative consumption” movement of sharing versus owning.
One of the things we’re most excited about is that, by joining forces, The Swapaholics will be able to host twice or even three times as many events nationwide next year, introducing our version of swapping to Swap.com’s one million plus existing members and giving our loyal swappers a way to get their swap fix in between our events by swapping online.
We can’t share the secret squirrel and super cool things we have in store just yet, but promise that we’ll be posting along the way and sharing behind the scenes updates from our new digs very soon.
